RETURNED SOLDIERS

THE CLUBHOUSE SOCIETY. ■• Tho following letter from the Hon. Arthur M. Myers, Minister of Munitions and Supx'lies, has been received by the (secretary of the Wellington Returned tjuldiers' Clubhouse Society:—"l am dnly in receipt of your letter of the 21th inst. .enclosing appeal on behalf of. tho Wellington lie-turned Soldiers' Clubhouse Society, who are,finding it necessary to •raise additional funds to enable them to carry on their useful work for a further eighteen month's, in consequence of the prolongation of the war'.. In reply, 1 desire to say that I am heartily in sympathy with your aims, those of affording mutual aid,'guidance; and protection of the interests of-inen returning from the war, on leave, or settling-down to civil occupation. There is uo doubt that the club is performing valuable national service, in thus assisting our returned soliliers to become incorporated with the civil life of the community, with the least possible delay, and 1 therefore have pleasure in enclosing herewith my cheque for ten guineas, of which I would ask voiir acceptance asi a donation to the above worthy objects. With all good ;wishes for. the continued success of the club."
