HOMING PIGEON SOCIETY
In the twenty-second annual report and balance-sheet of the Wellington Homing Pigeon Society the committee congratulates members upon the satisfactory position of the club. It is necessary, too, that this should be so, as it has been proved beyond doubt that a strong contingent of reliable message-carriers is at present a valuable asset to our Empire, and the authorities may rely upon them at any time. _ . The maritime championship was won by J. Pcrrett, with 37 points, J. Bolton being runner-un with 20 points, aud J. Bruce third with 19 points. The young bird cup was won by ,T. Perrett, 204 points, J. Bruce runnor-up with 13$points. The scries shows held during the recess was a great success, record i entries being made. Thanks are due to Messr?. TI. Wilkin*. .T. Perrett, H. H. liippitt, G.
