Moss, a memW of the National Efficiency Board, on the-necessity.of growing wheat; this seaeon. Mr. G. L. .Marshall proposed, and Mr. J. Morrison seconded—'"That this meet-' ing strongly urges:that the commandeer of frozen moat 1 by the. Imperial Government 6hould' bo extended ''so as to be co-terminous with the wool contract; that the Imperial Government should purchase the whole of. the. frozen meat produced. by the Dominion at' current prices until one year after the end of the war." The motion was carried. ' Mr. J. Morrison moved, and Mr. A. Btuait Becondcd—"That . the prico of. wheot.be fixed by the Government at 7s. per bushel throughout New Zealand, delivered on trucks at the nearest railway station." The motion was carried with several dissentients. Mr. R. E. Nowman moved—"That this branch, realising the necessity of stimulating increased production in ordor to cope with the increasing taxation, iB in favour of the establishment of Farm Development Boards in each province of the Dominion, the object of which will be to carry out such trials and demonstrations of crops and of methods fta are deemed likely to mnke for greater development and production in the particular districts in which the work is undertaken, and to collect data as to the cost and returns tinder local conditions, and that the A. and P. associations, the county councils and other.local bodies, and the Department of Agriculture be urged to co-operate with this object,- the executive to be eleoted from the.contributing bodies." The motion wasseoonded by Mr. Coleman, and carried. The following committee was appointed to procure particulars of the wheat acreage:—Messrs. 'B. P. Lethbridge, Alex. Stuart, G. Lampt), A.- Black, J. Morrison, and E. B. Ellgour.
