OBSTRUCTING AN ARMED GUARD
A GOVERNMENT OFFICER FINED. By Telegraph— Preps Association. • Dunedin, August 5. At the Police Court to-day Robert Eraser,, master inarinor and Assistant Superintendent of Mercantile Marino and Surveyor of Ships, was charged with obstructing an armed guard, contrary to the War Reijulatioi.s. The evidence showed that tho defendant refused to show his pass, when it was 'demanded, although he was in possession of it. ITo also refused to givo his namo and address. He was also alleged (o have used filthy language in regard to tho War Regulations. The defenco was that lie, as n f>vn"imoT)t officer, was liein.? baited for the edification of a crowd of men who were standing by. The Magistrate (Mr. Bartholomew) held the charge to bo proved, and fined the defendant ,£lO.
