MINIATURE RIFLE SHOOTING —« The Wellington Miniature Rille Association last week conducted the quarterly competition for the Osmond Shield. There was a record entry of twelve teams, and some good shooting resulted. The Hailway A team won, with the same club's li team in second place. A feature of the competition was the good shooting of Petoue ladies, who secured. third plnce, Mrs. Wild making the possible. The members and supporters were convoyed to their destination in motor buses, leaving town at 2.15 p.m. An excellent trail was laid by Messrs. F. G. Harlen and S. Townscnd. Two hundred yards from home the pack was halted for the nin-iii, which resulted in a win for D. Wilson. W. Chirk and W. Harbison were second and third respectively. After the run an enjoyable afternoon lea was served at the Bellevue tea rooms, 'fho run next Saturday is to take place from Te Avo Baths, and in the evening the member* and supporters will lie entertained by the club committee in the club room.
