POULTRY NOTES

(By "Ohantioleor.") Co-operate or Quit Business. Tho abovo caption ie not, a threat. It is merely a terse statement of tho alternatives that confront tho poultry producers of this country at tho present time. With each passing month tlio situation In the poultry world has been becoming iroro acute, conditions nioro unsettled, tho problems faciue each individual doiiltrynian more perDlexluir. Moro and more it has been rendered apparent Unit tho "old order chqneeth." Tho ,world is being reborn. Established precedent is no lonnor a safe guide. Olinneing couditions are demanding now methods in every Hue of human activity. And the poultry industry is no exception to the rule. Several months ago it became apparent to a number of men who have spent the best years of their lives in studyins tho problems and conditions alTecting the poultry industry that tho Dresent crisis could only b« mot through an organisation that could ciuickly be extended to reach every man anij woman engaged in the production of poultry. It was seen that co-op-erative ellort must take the place of individual effort, especially in the purchasing and sellioj? end of the business. The old uiotlo, "Every man for himself, and the devil take the hindmost," must be supplanted by the motto, "Ono for all, and all for one." "United we stand, divided we fall," was never more true than in the present emerKency. ■ EGG-LAYING N.Z. UTILITY PODLTRY CLUB'S FOCK- . TEENTH COMPETITION.
