PLUNKET SOCIETY

The monthly meeting of the Eoyal New Zealand Society for the Health of Women arid Children was held in their Tooms on Thursday morning. .. Present .were Mrs. Massey (in the chair), Lady Stout, Mesdanies Russell, W. Luke and Ponsonby, Misses Eiley, M'Leim, Kirkcaldie, and Barnett. Apologies woro received from Mesdames W. Nathan, Eichiirdson, Macarthy Eeid, Chapman, Harcoiirt, Ward, Winder, and M'Vicar. .Nurse Mitchell read the month's report, ■ which was as follows:—Number of new cases, SG; visits to homes, 490; to rooms, 430; babies solely breast-fed, ffl: partially, '1G; artificially, 55; mothers taught how to prepare humanised milk, 30; expectant mothers' visits, ij letters received, !). Nurso Walton visited Day's Bay , on Wednesday afternoon and found mothers there very glad to have the services 'of i\ Pliinket nurse.
