At the conclusion of the,address the follow ing resolution, moved by Mr. A. C Holms, ami seconded by Mr. ,f. W. Card was carried unanimously: "Thnt this meeting records its keen disappointment us to the. secondary place given the demands of education by the Government lining strongly impressed with tho necessity for Kirly and effective preparation t<, maintain tho nation's position of supremacy." A second resolution, moved by the Kov. R. JJ. Calherwooil, and seconded by Mr. C. J. Danahey, was carried, as under: "That this meeting is of the opinion that there arc four pressing necessities in connection with the school facilities in Ventherston—(l) The erection of a larger building to accommodate the great increase in the school roll. (2) The locution of the infant classes ,in comfortable rooms. (3) The provision of a larger playing area in lieu of the use of the public square, with the attendant dangers thereof. (4) The purchase of a site for the erection of a new school. lii pursuance of the foregoing essential local reforms, this meeting assures the School Cojiiinittee of support in renewed efforts to improve the existing disabilities." It was decided that a local branch of tlw association be formed, with the following provisional committee:—Rev. Mr. Calherwood, Messrs. ,1. 11. FieUlhouse, A. C. Holms, and C, J. Danahey, to enrol members and convene a general lneeliiiir. On the motion oi' Mr. Holms, Mr. Combs was heartily thanked for his instructive' address, mid the meeting pledged itself to nsfiist the association.
