NO HOPE 01' SALVING. A wireless message concerning tho fate of tiic steamer Himitangi, wnich was wrecked on Monau Reef, W'aitnugi West, Chatuam Islands, early on Monday morning, was received last night by Mr. E. 0. F. Zolirab, manager for tho Chatham Islands fishing Company, Ltd. Mr. J. Prcndeville, the company's manager at the Islands, who visited the scene of tho wreck, reported that tho Hioiitangi is badly holed and hard and fast on tho rocks. There is practically uo hope of salvaging her. Arrangements for the departure of a relief steamer to bring the crew back to Wellington will now be made.
