By Telograph-I'ross Association
i! <• r... Hamilton, July 30. Before the Stipendiary Magistralo this morning, Ismael Wright St. Clair was charged with assaulting Jan Pavieh, an alien, and was fined £2 aild ,£1 costs. Hie evidence showed that the assault }™s entirely unprovoked. The 11 agio. Irate (Mr. Rawoon) commented as follows: Some young fellows think it a lino thing to bait foroignors; but it is cowardly, as they are at a decided disadvantage in a foreign country, Foreigners arc entitled to protection as long as they conduct themselves well. A recent commission paid a tribute to the lawabiding character of the Dalmatians. Whatever your private feelings may be ill regard to these men, that does not entitle you to assault them. This sort of thing is hoodhnmsm, which will not be permuted, as it may load to serious consequence;.
