CHEMISTS' DEFENCE ASSOCIATION
CONFERENCE CONVENED. As I here lire several matters of more than ordinary interest to pharmacists that need attention at t'liu present time, wuat is known as the Chemises' Defence Association has been established m A'ew Zealand, with Mr. \V. S. Wallace, of Willis Street, as president, and -Mr. A. G. (iienny, of Brooklyn, a:- secretary. Tho association has convened a conference to bo held in Wellington on August li and 7. Among the several matters of importance to l>e discussed will be tho culling tip of chemists, even of the Second Division, and sending them away from this country as privates or n.c.o.'a, when their services are of such value, not ouly to the forces, but to tho community. It is understood that in some districts the calling up of the chemists has resulted in an insufficient number being left to deal with .the ordinary pharmaceutical needs of 'tho community. It is not yet known how many chemists will ationd the conference, but invitations have been issued to every chemist in New Zealand, and u very representative gathering of the dispensing profession is anticipated.
