MONEY MARKET T'ue Bank of England discount rate on January ' 12, 191'/, was 5i per cent. On April 6 it was reduced to 6 per cent., at nhiuL figure it lias since stood. OPEN KAB.KET RATES. The open market discount rate for three months' bills is 3J per cent., as compared with 3k per cent, last'week and 4H per cent, last year. Short loans are quoted at 3> per cent., as against 5j per cent, last week and 4i per cent. last year. . COLONIAL AND OTHER PRODUCE. Wheat—Unchanged; further sales were made on passage parcels arriving, at 795. 6d. Flour-Firm; a quantity of Australian and Chinese sold at 495. 9(1. ex store. . Oats, peas and bcanß-Flrin at late rates. Sugar—Unchanged. Butter—The position is unchanged. Cheese—The distribution amounts to 50 per cent, of the July requirements. The retail price of Government cheese has been raised to 20d. per lb. Tho reason is not stated, but it is probably because the farmers' price for Britiflh-ntade cheeso has been raised to 20d. per lb, as from August 1.
