GREAT EFFORT IN THE SHIPYARDS

AMERICA'S GOAL FOR 1919. (Rec. July 28, 11 p.m.) Washington, July 27. Mr. C. M. Schwab, head of the Federal Ship Corporation Board, during a visit of American diplomats to a Government shipyard, predicted an enormous output by shipyards in 1919. He said that tho United States would probably produce nine million tons of steel ships and •1,200,000 tons of wooden ships next year. If tho yards worked to their full capacity he could complete twelve hundred steel ships and a similar number of woodei ships.—Ans.-N.Z. Cable Assn.
