Messrs. Abraham and Williams, Ltd., report that at their hido sale held on July 25 they offered a largo catalogue to a fair attendance of buyers. Competition was very keen for heavy hides and calfskins-one- lino of heavy ox making ,£■l per hide, aud best lines of calfskins, weighing Gib. each, making Gs. Bd. per skin. Tallow was also in keen demand. Quotations: Ox, heavy, 12d. (JM per hide); medium, lljd. to 113 d.; light, IOJd. to 11-} d.; cow, heavy, 9|d.; medium, OJd.,- ! ; ght, SJd.; cut, slippy, and inferior, 7Jd. to 9Jd.; calf, best line, Gs. Bd. per skin; medium, liijd. to Hid. per lb.; stained, lOd. to 13d.cut, slippy, and inferior, 9d. to 13Jd.j yearlings, 91d. to lid.; terse hides, fls. to 16s. Gd.; tallow, in tins, .£3O 10s. per ton, in casks, ,£32 per ton; horsehair, 9Jd. per lb.
