COLLEGE GOVERNORS
Tlio monthly meeting of tlio Board of Governors of the Wellington Boys' and Girls' Colleges was held yesterday morning. The Hon. .T. G. W. Aitken.'M.L.C., presided, and there were present Messrs. \V. 11. P. Barter, W. Allan, W. F. U'ard, Professor Eastorfield, and iho Mayor (Mr. J. P. Luke).
The finance statement showed that at the last meeting there was a credit of £;IGG9 lis. 2d., and yesterday that amount had increased lo i-1572 13s. Bd. Payments were sanctioned as follows:— Wellington College, .ClO9l Bs. Id., Girls' College, .COW 2s. 2d. Tlio outstanding fees and Government payments to como in represented a sum of .£2187 7s. 3d. The chairman announced thai tlio Government had paid iGOO by way of freeplace cavitation in Ihe case of the Girls' College, and had also made a grant of. ..£lls oil account of war bursaries.
Letters were read from Mr. ,). P. Virl.h dealing with changes of staff found necessary at Iho Wellington College. The chninimn, Professor Easterfield, and Mr. Ward were appointed it committed lo confer with Mr. Firth in regard lo the ponieivhat involved conditions attached to the ilackay bursary. ,
