MOTOR-CAR AND MOTOR-VAN COLLIDE
In tho Supreme Court yesterday His Honour Mr. Justice Hosk'ing continued tho hearing of the case* on appeal of tM Wellington Publishing Company, Ltd., v. C. F. Vallance. farmer, Featherston. This was an appeal on point of law and matter of fact from the decision of the Magistrate's .Court at Foatherston in an action wherein the appellant claimed i£so damages arising out of a collision between appellant's motoivvan and respondent's motor-car on December 17, 1917. Tho respondent counter-claimed for ,£l5O alleging negligent driving and. unskilful management of the motorvan by appellant's servant. The Magistrate docidwl in favour of the respondent on 'the claim and counter-claim, and the appeal was against this decision, on tho grounds, that there wns no cvidenco tfl support the judgment and that appellant wm entitled to''judgment on both the claim and counter-claim-upon the evidence adduced.
Mr. A. W. Blair, for tho respondent, addressed tho Court at some length, but tho caso had to be adjourned until this morning, His Honour having another engagement for the afternoon.
