Nothimr daunted, lie obtained a couple of rifles, and, crutches, walked for seven miles Ihwii-h shell and machine-gun fire to a « s " a lty eiearin" station. When he arrived at the station his leg was immediately amnutated, and he was theii sent home to E""iand. He is now making a lapid recovory.
