It was resolved: "That the Wadestown Municipal Electors' Association be informed as under on the following subjects: IVnde Street Extension (regarding a dnngerons track used by school children): It is not possible to construct a satisfactory track in _ this street; land will have to be acquired, and a deviation made, and the work will bo fairly expensive. AVeld Street (repair of roadway): The ,streot lias been attended to during the last few days. Upper Pitt Street (suggested that zig-zag be replaced by steps): The City Engineer reports that the work in this street is at present receiving attention." The council decided: "That the Northland Electors' Association be informed, in reference to their suggestion that, the existing fences at the Botanical Gardens be removed., that the. reason why action in the direction aslted for cannot be undertaken immediately, is that it is anticipated that it will' be necessary at ail early date to widen the whole of Karori Road alftngside tho Botanical Gardens for ordinary purposes of traffic, and that when such time arises new fences will be erected." The request of the Northland Electors' Association for yearly provision in be made for the gradual widening of Garden Bond is to be nnswered to the effect that the council consider the work a ncccssary one, but they cannot agree with the proposal that it should be carried out in a piecemeal manner.
