BIG MUNITIONS STRIKE
12,000 SKILLED WORKERS IDLE A DEADLOCK WITH THE MINISTRY . (Rec. July 24, 9.35 p.m.) London, July 23. Six thousand tool-makers have commenced a strike at Coventry, though outvoted yesterday oil the question of an immediate strike. Three thousand havo ceased work at Leicester.— A us.-xv'.Z. Cable Assn. (Rec. July 25, 0.50 a.m.) London, July 2.'). Tho Ministry of Munitions slates that twelve thousand skilled' workmen at Coventry have struck. At a -meeting of trades unions it was resolved that all amalgamated engineers and ekilled hands would not resume, until the embargo on unskilled labour is removed. The Birmingham committee hiis asked for a fortnight's suspension of the embargo, otherwise they will cease work on Wednesday. The Ministry replied refusing the suspension. Notices havo been given in fomo of the works in Manchester that the men will censo work on July 30 unless tho embargo is withdrawn.
