MUFTI ALLOWANCE
THE NEW RULES,
Instructions with respect to the .payment of tho increased mufti allowance of £b ss. have now been issued by the Director of Equipment and Ordnance Stores (Major T. M'Crjetall) to tho vanous group officers. All men w>o arrived in the Dominion prior to July 20, and are still undischarged, and all men who have been discharged since Juno 1, aiui who received 30s. only, will make application for the five guineas warrant and tho n 15s. respectively direct to the Director of Base Records Wellington, »ho will issue instructions for return of clothing after examining clothing cards of the men. With arrivals subsequent to Juljr "0 the extra suit of uniform, if nn extra suit is in possession of the soldier, will , withdrawn previous to < 'sembarkation on arrival in Mew Zealand. Ihe soldier will retain his greatcoat until appl cation is made for the clothing war■ant. Such application must be made within five weeks of the dab of reeein of notice of discharge. The solder will return hie greatcoat to the nearest group office, either personally or by post (post™w prepaid), together with hie notice of discharge, and the Group Commander will then issue the clothing warrant for & 55.. bearing currency for one month from date of issue. In the event of tho Ztot nnd second suit of uniform (where issued) not betas rehirnod. threefourths of the origina value will bo charged for each article, viz., greatcoat % of-fid., jacket .£1 3s. ii., trousers til, pantal'Jns 16. 2d. The Group Commander will not issue a warrant where Hie greatcoat is not handed in, but will direct the soldier to submit his appheation to the officer-in-charge, War hxpenses Branch, Wellington, £or a clothing warrant covering the amount duo.
