KELBURN PRESBYTERIAN CHURCH
A social gathering was held on Saturday evening in the Kelburn Presbyterian Churchroom for the purposes of welcoming the new minister of the congregation (Rev. William Day). The Rev. W. J. Cnmrie presided over a large attendance. Addresses of welcome were delivered by Mr. R. Tail, jun., on behalf of the congregation; by the Rev. A. E. Hunt, on behalf of sister churches; by the Rev. S. Robertson Orr, on behnlf of the Presbytery; and by the Hon. J. 6. W. Aitken, as Moderator of the General Assembly. Mr. Day suilably replied, expressing his pleasure at the unanimous invitation to him and the heartiness of Hie welcome. Occasion was Jakon by the chairman to express the appreciation of the congregation of the work done hy the Rev. .T. 11. Mackenzie in filling the pulpit.during the long vacancy, and to present to him an armchair ne a mark of (he esteem and affection in which he was belu. Mr. C. S. Moore, on behalf of the enngrtgatinn, presented to the Rev. AV. ,T. Comrie a- handsome g'.ld watch in appreciation of bis services as moderator during the vacancy. During the evening musical items were given l:y Miss Mackenzie, Messrs. Clarke-Johnson, and Black, and by the choir, under Mrs. Rose, as well as a recitation by Miss Wiron. Refreshments were provided by the ladies.
