The passage over the Rimutaka Hill was not an easy one yesterday. Tire Dominion motor van which carries the paper to the Wairarapa got through yesterday morning in three hours, but on the return trip it took 6even hours to negotiate the distance from the foot of the hill to the summit. Snow was falling steadily, and in places was several feet deep. The driver of the car and a roadman had to ply shovels and clear a track for the big car. Sgt. J. L. Smith, Army Pay Corps, has been appointed stntT-sorgeant.
