VON KUHLMANN AND THE KAISER
. DISMISSAL FOLLOWS ANGRY QUARREL. Amsterdam, July 21. The German newspapers giva 'details of an angry quarrel between tlio Kaiser and' von Kulilrimnn at Headquarters. Von Ludendorff threatened to resign unless Kuhlmann resigned. Count von Hertling (Imperial Chancellor) replied that Kuhlmann would resign quietly during' the Reichstag recess. Kuhlmann went to the Kaiser and refused to do this. A violent dispute ended in Kulilnmnn's dismissal. He was ordered back to Berlin by the first train.—Aus.-N.Z. Cable Assn. SCHEIDEMANN BADLY HECKLED HOWLED DOWN BY THE INDEPENDENTS. Copenhagen, July 21. Henr Scheidemann attempted to address his constituents at Solingon in defence of the policy of ihe Majority Socialists.
