BIG ALLIED DRIVE IMMINENT
BRITISH IN ACTION FRENCH RECAPTURE CHATEAU THIERRY DISORDERLY RETREAT All the elements of tremendous developments in the West are present in the situation depicted in tho dispatches from the correspondents at tho Western front to-day. To quote from tho comment of the Dutch journal "Telegraaf," "anything may happen." The French have re-entered Chatuau Thierry, one of the pivotal positions' of tho salient of which Soisfions is'the other, and the latter is also in danger. The German flifjlit from Chateau Thierry resembled a disorderly rout, tho road being choked with retreating columns. For tho first time the British have mado their appearance in the present operations, concentrating at night, and launchan immediate attack on the sector between Reims and tho Marne, and advancing a mile. Altogether the depth of tho Allies' advanco varies from sis to nine miles. A double pressure is at present being exerted on the Crown Prince's forces by tho Franco-American offensive in one direction, and the French, Italian, and British in the other. Tho enemy is desperately striving to arrest the advance, but up to the present has not succeeded.
