Miss Mary Mac Arthur, one of the most prominent, figures in the Labour movement in England, was adopted on May 11 as the prospective jiarliamentary candidate for Stourbridge by tho local Labour Party. She is tho first -woman candidate adopted by a political party as such, and all the men's trade unions in the distiricO support her. Miss --MacArthur, who was offend the choice of seven constituencies, is secretary of (he National Federation of Women' Workers and the Women's Trade Union League, and also acted as honorary secretary of tho Central Committee on women's employment. Among other things she has done important work for the women chainmakcrs of Cradley Ileath, who will have votes i.ll Stourbridge.
