LADIES' ASSOCIATION. . The eighth series of games in the first round' of the ladies' hockey competitions was played at Karori Park 011 Saturday. The game Ramblers A v. Pay Department proved 'an interesting one, and both sides gave a fine exhibition of hockey, Ramblers winning by two goals to nil. Wellington Girls' College was a long way ahead of Ramblers li, winning by ten goals to nil. Public Trust, after a very keen game, defeated University by two goals to nil, while College B ■ scored a win over lluahati- by two to nil. Tiesuits Seniors. y Ramblers A v. Pay .Department—Ramblers won the initial bully-off, and set up a promising attack, but were • stopped by the Pay Department's full-back who played a sound game throughout. Both sides, passing well, kept the ball travelling from end to end. From a forwaid passing rush Miss N. Lang scored for 'Ramblers. The spell ended without any further score. In the second half the play showed a decided improvement, the match developing into the liest exhibition of hockey seen at Karori this season, each side putting in some line stick work. Ramblers, three-parts through the spell, managed with the aid of Miss S. Simon, tu score, Play to (he end of the game was very, keen, Ramblers winning by two goals to nil. ill'. Cusaek had charge of the game. Wellington Girls' College A v. Ramblers B.—College had all (lie best of the game, scoring five goals in each' half. Goals were scored by Misses Martin (J), Easterfield (2), Walker (1), JPlvenzie (11, Gore (1), Lucina (1). Final result: College, 10; Ramblers, nil. Mr. A. C. Wheatley was referee.

Public Trust v. University.—-In. the licst- spell piny was very/ven, both sides playing well togeiher. The defence of the backs proved too good, aud the first spell ended without any score. Jn the second spell Public Trust had the best of the game, and at the call of time the score stood: Public Trust, 2; University, nil. lioth goals were scored by Aliss Gilfedder. Air. H. J. Llovd was referee.

Wellington Girls' College B v. Huahati.—After a. very fast game College defeated Ilualiati by two goals to nil. Kisses Smith and Thompson scored for College, Mr. A. Edwards was referee.

Y.W.C.A. won by default over Wellington Girls' College B. MEN'S-. ASSOCIATION*. The men's competition advanced another stage 011 Saturday. Trentham A added another win to thc-ir list. Results 'Trentham Av. Karori.—ln the first spell Trentham had the better of tho opening play, but for a time could not break down the deience of the Karori backs, 'j.'. Spiers, in-goal, was a host in himself. Biooker (Trentham) finished up a forward passing rush by finding the net, and shortly after J-larman added another goal. In tho second half, play was more even, and each side scor'ud 0110 goal—Harnian for Trentham. and . Lowry tor Karori— I Trentham winning by three goals to one. Mr. A. C. Manning was referee. Ramblers v. Trentham 'B.—Trentham, who were playing one short—and most, of the team were playing for the' first time this season—suffered their first defeat. Ramblers had all the better of the game, scoring three goals to nil in the first spell, and three to one in the second spell. The scorers were.:— i:'or Ramblers: Tait (3), Kuch, Wheatley, and Thorpe (1 each): while Edwards scored for Trentham. Final result: Rnniblels, C; Trentham, 1. Mr. A. Edwa'rds carried the whistle.

Y.M.C.A. A v. Pay Department.— Y.M.C.A. easily defeated Pay Department by five goals to nil. 111 the first spell Bascand and Hogan scored, and in tho second spell Bascand (2), and Hogan (1) were the scorers. Mr. Lloyd had charge of the game.

Base .Records y. Y.M.C.A. C.—lieeords scored a win over Y.M.C.A. C by eight goals to three. In the first spell .leroinwin (2), M'Farland (1), for Y.M.C.A., and M'Leod, for Records, scored. In the second spell Records had all the better of the play, putting 011 seven goals to liil-Dobson (.1), O'Brien (11, Price 0), and M'Leod (2). Jlr. A. C. AVheatloy was referee.

Feat'n.rston v. Y.M.C.A. B.—ln the first sf.f'll play was c-f an even nature, Y.M.C.A. scoring one goal to nil. P'aree. beimr tho scorer. In the 'second spell Featherston had all the better nf the play, Fraser and Voss each scoring. Featherston won by two goals to ore. Mr. Pragnell was referee.
