SUNDAY SCHOOL UNION
Seventeen delegates attended the meeting of the council of tho Sunday School Union lost evening, Mr. Arthur Iloby, president, being in the chair. The Levin Methodist and two schools at Tonther-' slon were rcceivd as lumbers, of tho union. Three gentlemen, subject to their approval, were appointed to set as trustees of bequests given to the union. It was reported that subscriptions towards the backblocks' agent were still coining in. =As it was thought likely that sufficient funds would be in hand by the end of tho year to juslify secnriiig an agent for at least a fow months, a sub-commitlce was appointed to inquire as to a suitable agent. Mr. Barratt brought forward the matter of tho Sunday School choir competition at tho November competitions, and it wns decided to make an effort to interest all tho schools in the scheme. It was decided to ask His Worship tho Mayor to present the prizes won in the examination.
