She carried a posy of frcesias und violets. Miss Ivy Nathan (sister) attended as bridesmaid, and wore a fawn costume faced with navy blue, with fawn hat and tox furs. Slio ftlso carried a posy of Violets and freesias. Mr. P. B. Lomax, 2f, Motueka, was best man, and Mr. T. 0 .Weill, of Kakatahi, was, groomsman. Wedding at Christ's Church, Dipton. A military wedding,of much interest Mas celebrated, at the Anglican Church, Dipton, on July 3, when Sergeant-Major Alfred Kynaston, oldest son of Mrs. Kynaston and the late Mr. J. Kynaston, of Peldwick, Southland, was married to Miss Ethel Sparks, eldest daughter of Mr and Mrs. J. C. Sparks, of Dipton. The bridegroom, a member of the Main Body, served sinoe tho outbreak of the war in ■Egypt. Gallipoli, and IVanee, and returned pu duty to New Zealand last March. Hags, foliage, and flowers. Tho bridesmaid was Miss' Elsie Sparks, sister of the bride, whilst' the bridegroom's brother, Mr. Randal Kynaston, acted as groomsman. The bride, who was given away by her father, wore a dress of white embroidered silk voile, with a honiton lace veil, and carried a handsome bouluet of white spring flowers and maidenhair fern. Tho bridesmaid wore a very pretty dress; and black heaver hat with crimson flowers. The wedding breakfast, served at the residence of the bride's parents, was attended by a large numljer of relatives and friends. The toast of Hip bride and bridegroom, proposed by the Rev. C. P. Webb, who performed tlio marriage' ceremony, was responded to by the bridegroom. The bride's parents, proposed by Mr. J. Gilta, was responded to by the bride's father. Mr. S. J. Collio proposed the bridesmaid, and was responded to by Mr. T). Kynaston. • Mr. W. Clark proposed the ladies, 'Mrs. Giles responding. .The bridegroom's present to the bride was a set of fox furs, and tn the bridesmaid a'gold'bangle. By the afternoon train the young couple left en route for Wellington, where SergeantMajor Kynaston is now located.

Soldiers' Christmas Puddings, A novel idea is being put into practice by the Mayoress's Christmas Tudding Committee, which will servo to oven moro popularise tho schemo and give helpers nn opportunity, to make tho diepatch of tho puddings a more personal matter. Donors of seven shilings and sixpence may have tho privilege of signing a label which will bo forwarded on receipt of the amount, and this will bo attached io tho larger puddings being made for dispatch to tho New Zealand hospitals in France or England, the Mguer naming any particular hospital as the destination of tho gift- parcel. By giving a guinea three 7s. Cd. puddings eim Ik) dispatched, tho same privilege of signing a label being given and the hospital io which tho donor wishes them to bo dispatched being singled out. The puddings will arrive in time for the Christmas celebrations. By this means the recipients will have the opportunity of personally acknowledging the pudding. Early application should be .made, as tho idea is sure- to met with tho widest support. Sums of ,£lO each have- been received by tho fund from Mr. J. P. Firth and the Wellington College students, and a donation of. a ease of eggs has come to hand from the Mayoress of Pahiatua. The Indies are doing excellent work at Ngahauranga, where tho puddings are being made. After many months of sojourn in Papeet.o Miss Mary Edwards has left, and is now holidaying in New Zealand prior to returning, to Sydney. She had a successful exhibition of pastels before leaving Papeete. The-Governor purchased a pastel for Government House, and tho exhibition had the kindly hands of Dr. Williams (British Consul) and Mrs. Williams to guide affairs smoothly.
