FRANCO-AMERICAN, COUNTER-BLOW LOST TOWNS RETAKEN BRITISH SUCCESS IN ITALY ' In spite of fresh attacks by the Germans, the Allies everywhere have (ho situation well in hand, and have at no joint allowed tho'onemy to . gain a footing in their battle positions. Franco-German counter-attacks lmvo resulted in the recapture of various lost positions, including two towns. After their general reverse the previous ovening, tho enemy has not sought to renew his offensive operations on a grand scale. _ The prisoners appear to reflect the spiritless moral- of the shattered f.rmics. In Italy tho British havo achieved a successful coup on the Asiago Tlateau. Tho Bolsheviki in Siberia are roported to have sustained two fresh defeats.
