. POLICE CASES. Mr. S. E. Hf'Cartliy, S.M.. presided over yesterday's' sitting of the Magistrate's Court. A soldier nalned Charles Pointon was charged with having behaved in- a, disorderly manner in I.nmbton Quay when drunk*. Acting-Sub-lnspector - Einerson said that 011 Tuesday evening ace,used went into an hotel and 1 refused to leave tlie premises. Constable Smith eventually got him on to the footpath, and tried to jiorsitade liinl to go home, out tlie man persisted in remaining, got very .excited, and had to be-arrested. According to Constable Phillips, who was also .present, accused remarked that he would "smash all the pretty faces of the bluebottles in Wellington." Accused, who said he had only returned within thu last day or- two, was fined 405., in default seven days' imprisonment. Edward J nines Wilson was further remanded for a week on a charge of having assaulled Edward Logan 011 January 5, 1917. • Bail was refused,. On a charge of having broken and entered the warehouse of Griffiths and Co., Blair Street, on Julv S, and committed tho theft of a quantity of goods, .Tames Marl in was again remanded until July 21, For insobriety, Donald .Matlieson was iinetl Gfls., in default seven days' imprisonment, and Gavin Burns (Jroker was lined 2(ls. v with the alternative of soven days' detention.-
