He started only oi;ce as a two-year-old, and won the Hedfont Two-year-old Stakes. As a, three-year-old he won the liaster J'late, but did not win in any of his regaining nine engagements. ; Shortly before leaving; Knglund lie cxn nine jumping events in -succession. Day Comet (14), also a. dark .chestnut, was foaled iu 1510. .Uis. sire was St. Frus(|ti.in (St. Simon—lsabel), and his dam Catgut tLachtaiitius-Oatkin). As a I-yvnr-nld lie won the Chestertiold Stakes, of 1000 rovs., and the Prince of Wales's Stakes, of J6OO sovs. As a three-year-old he ran unplaced . in the Two Thousand Guineas, and the . Derby.
