5000 NAMES DRAWN YESTERDAY. Tho July ballot was begun and completed yesterday by tlio Government Statistician and his stall, under tho supervision of Mr. S. H. M'Carthy, S.M. Tho drawing of tho required SCOO mimes from Class C, Second Division, was completed shortly before 4 p.m. Tho Mayor of Wellington (Mr. J. P. Luke, M.P.). watched tho proceedings, and at the conclusion congratulated the Government, Statistician (Mr. Malcolm Eraser) and lite officers on their quick and efficient work. The names of the selected men are to be published in a Gazette oil Wednesday next, July 21. The Gazette will contain also the names of men who have become available) in the First Division _ and Classes A and 13 of the Second Division.
