It is not very long ago since I had a report from the tronc detailing what happened during our part of'tho campaign.. There was a breach iu the line, and that breach was filled by tho New Zealand Division. I will • not 1 go so far as to say that the New Zealanderfi saved the situation, but they did a great deal to restore the situation. The men at the front, I believe, want to , etay it out to the end, and they intend to play their part to the end. (Applause.) , I know there is a great strain upon our man-power and our resources, but we, like other nations, our Allies, are prepared to meet these strains, and are ; prepared to do and to give all we can in this fight for freedom. We are glad to see the Americans coming in. Wo hope they will come in such numbers ■ that victory will bo oertain. So far as I am concerned, I consider myself absolutely pledged to keep the New Zealand Division up to strength as Ion? as we have the man-power to do it." (Ap- : plauso.)
