ANOTHER BIG BANK COMBINE
London, July 13. The Treasury has sanctioned the amalgamation of the London Joint Stock Bank with the London Cily and Midland Bank. The combined deposits amount to nearly .£300,000,000. This is said to ho by far the largest bunking institution in Great Britain.—Aus.-N.Z. Cable Assn. ' [The London Joint Stock Bank was founded in 1836. It absorbed the York ' City and County Bunk, which itself had absorbed several Yorkshire banks at various times since 1891. The London City and Midland Bank was also established in 183 G.
