! MONEY MAHKET i The Bank ot England discount rate on January 12, 1917, was 5} per cent. On April 5 it was reduced to 5 per cent., at which figure it has since Btood. OPEN MARKET BATES. The open market discount rate for three months' bills is 35 per cent., as compared with 3.1 por cent, last week and 43 per cent, last year.

Short loans arc quoted ot 3S per cent., hs against U per cent, last week and <IJ per cent, last year.
