NO SOLUTION OF DEADLOCK,
No advance has yet been made towards a solution of the deadlock in the negotiation'! between (lie coal-mine owners ihkJ the Miners' Federation. The Federation wishes to meet the owners to discuss with, them proposals for increases in pay of twenty per cent., but this request the. owners have already refused. The owners have, however, offered that the several companies will meet the" umom of the employees in their own mines. It is this refusal on the part of the owners to negotiate with the representatives of the federation which i 6 the crnet question at issue for the present.
