Yesterday in Wellington was beautifully fine, villi- a light, -keen breeze, and clearskies, and every prospect of a coutmuwl spell of- fine weather. Hut tho official forecast does not hold out much hopu in that direction. To-day e prediction is for moderate to strong south-westerly wind?, veering to north-west, cold and changeable weather, and scattered showers \ir improvement is likely, but another break of unsettled weather is expected to follow.
