The auxiliary ketch Water Lily arrived at Dunedin on Tuesday afternoon from the lower harbour with a cargo of timber from Stewart T sland. Miller Bros., of Port Chalmers, for usn in connection with the salving of the Wailiare. She was formerly a unit of the Bluff oyster fleet, and is under the command oT Captain Cross. She is of 42 tons gross register, and was built at Auckland in 1865. The schooner Gisborne, laden with tinned meats, is now due at Wellington from lnvercargill. The schooner May Howard is to load at lnvercargill this week for Wellington. She and the Gisborne will subsequently load general cargo at Wellington for Dunediii an« lnvercargill. The Badeu Powell will sail this evening for New Plymouth.
A start was made yesterday with the annual overhaul of the Ifuia, and it is expected to have her in commission again in. about teu days.
Carpenters and boiler-makers have just about finished their task of renovating the Aorere, and it is expected thai before the end of next week she win be ready to take up her running in the Eastbourne cargo service. Her boiler and a new funnel will be fitted into position in a day or two, and then all that remains to be done iB to have her free-board and deck fittings painted. A new engine-house has heen built, and some of tho woodwork has been renewed.
