Tho "Daily Chronicle'' 'tates that von Hintzo is perh.ipi tho most notorious intriguer in the German diplomatic service. Ilia behaviour in China was once so scandalous tliat ho was lecalled. He was in Mexico at tho outbreak of the war, and posing as an Emjiishimui succeeded in returning to Germany, via England. Ho was reappointed to China m 1915.-Aus.-N.55. Cable Assn.
