HEROES OF THE WAR FACTORIES
SPLENDID TRIBUTE TO THE' MIDLANDS WORKS. London, July 9. Mr. F. G. Kellaway, Parliamentary Secretary of tho Munitions Department, referring to the recent explosion in a Midlands munition factory, paid a high tribute to tho courage of tho men .and women workers in the presence of sudden and appalling danger. They worked as coolly as if they woro doing an exhibition' drill. Only twelve, out of soveu thousand failed to turn up to work next morning. Mr. Kcllawny suggested "as tho French Government conferred tho highest military honour on tho citadel of Verdun, wo should confer tho Victoria Cross on this factory."—Aus.-N.Z, Cablo Aesn,
