TRANSFERS PROM CLASS C. ' The Government Statistician hae conducted a further purging of tho roll of Class C, Second Division, during recent weeks. He has received information as to change of etatue from many reservists, who seem to have been awakened to their responsibilities by the publication, of the first ballot list in their class, and has been able to transfer some men to Class B, and a larger number to Class D (three children). The B men will be called up in the nest Gazette. The number of men remaining in Class C is now approximately 11,100. ~f)i these 5000 are. to be drawn bv ballot next week.
The number of men now in Class D is 21,000. The Government Statistician has eent a postcard to each cf these men informing him of hie classification, and asking him either to confirm it or to notify any change of status, <luo to the death or birth of a child. Tho men aro ' required also to notify any change of address. These obligations aro statutory.
