ORGANISATION SCHEME
« DECISIONS OF LABOUR PARTY CONFERENCE. A definite scheme of organisation was tho chief topic discussed at tho annual conference of the New Zealand La,bour Partv vesterday. The following proposals, 'submitted by a special committee, wero adopted;— (1) That the several Labour Representation Committees be given" organising jurisdiction over tho electorates named as under;— Auckland: Auckland West, Central, Bast, Parnell, Grey Lynn, Eden, ltoskill, Bay of Islands, Kaipara, Marsden, WaitemaU, Franklin, Thames, Raglan, Ohinemuri, Waikato, Tauranga, Eotorua, Waitonio. Manukau. Wellington; Wellington North, East, Central, South, Suburbs, Wairarapa, Masterton, Pahiatua, Wanganui, Rangitikei, Patea, . Egmont, Taranaki, Stratford, Wajmarino. Otago: Dunedin North, West, Central, South, Oamarit, Chalmers, Clutha, Wakatipu, PalmoTston North: Palmerston North, Otaki, Manawatu, Oroua. | Hawke's Bay: Hawke's Bay,- Napier, Waipawa. Poverty Bay: Bay 1 of Plenty. Grey: Westland. Buller, Mo- ' tueka, Nelson, Wairau. Southland: In--1 vercargill, Mataura, Awarua, Wallace, i Tiniaru: Tiniaru, Waitaki, Temuka. Hutt 1 and Petonc; Hutt. Kaiapoi, Hurur uui. . i (2) That a national organising commitj tee bo set up, to consist of the na- ' tional president, national secretary, and ) the Labour members of Parliament. • I For the purpose of giving effect to > these recommendations, Labour represenr tation committees should appoint organising secretaries, whose duty it would be to attend to Hie planning of organising campaigns covering the. electorates com- [ ing within their provinces. In the large industrial centres the expenses incurred in the upkeep of offices and'tho payment of such organising sec--6 retaries should be as far as is possible met by pro rata payments by unions and brandies, and as a last resort by sube scriptions by sympathisers.
