The. accused, who said that lie remembered untiling of llic circumstances, was sentenced In two years' reformative- treatment. ABOUT A .C 5 NOTE. Martha C. Courtney was accused, on tlio information of Patrick .Joseph O'Callaghan, of tho theft of a X's note. ! O'Callnghan said that the woman; snatched tho money out of his hand, but i tiie accused denied this absolutely, ami >aid that O'Callaghnn took her' to a pawnshop and bought her a bangle. Tho .Magistrate- decided in favour of i the accused, and dismissed tho case, j OTHER CASES. ! For having used offensive language Herbert Louis Richardson was fined 10s. and costs. Arthur V. Mitchell was charged with having dkibeyed a maintenance order, and was ordered to pay ss. per week ort the arrears, in default fourteen days' imprisonment. Tor disobedience of a maintenance order Arthur Oldham was ordered to suffer a month's imprisonment, tho warrant to be suspended so long as ,£1 Lis. per week is paid. George Jelly was ordered to pay lis. per week towards the support of his family, his wife having sought tt separation order. Nellie Liming was ordered to pay iis. per week in support of a son who is in a char.table institution. I
