Koputaroa Notes. On Wodnosdny evening Mrs 11. J. Davies gavo a delightful 'evening in honour of Private W. E. Kilsby and Mrs. Kilsby. Mrs. Davies was assisted in the entertainment of her guests by Miss Irone Johnron. Music and many clever competitions helped to make a very enjoyablo evening. Supper was set in tlio large dining room, the tables being prettily decorated vilh spring bulbs and violets. Amongst' those present were, in addition to tho hostess. Mr. and Mrs. Kilsby, Mr. and Mrs. W. E. Kilsby, Mr. and Mrs. Fred) Davies, Mr. and Mrs. Frankland, Air. and Mrs. Best, Mr. and Mrs. Sawtell, Mr. and Mrs. Stratton, Misses Bsst (2), M'Donald, Shore, Pettinan,' Kilsby, and Bremner.
On Friday evening the fchoulhouse at Koputaroa was crowded with .old residents and friends to farewell Private Kilsby, who is on his final leave Jlr. Slrntton, in making a presentation on behalf of the residents, wished Private Kilsby all good luck and a safo return. Songs and recitations were given by local performers, nftor whieb supper was handed round.

At tho Christchnrch Hospital on Thursday afternoon one of the official visitors was much interested when a diminutivo N Scout marched solemnly into the Chalmers Ward and stood at attention waiting for orders. livery afternoon a Scout visits the Chalmers Ward and carries out various errands for the soldiers, such as posting letters, bringing stamps, etc. The capable and willing way in which these, self-imposed duties are carried out by tho youthful Scoute is mosc praiseworthy.
Tickets, for the Stewart Dawson Red Cross raffle may be obtained for the sum of Is. from Mrs. Dutliie, 30 Hobson Street, or from Mrs. Adams. 96 The Terrace,, on receipt of a stamped addressed envelope. A great deal of interest ha 6 been taken in this raffle, and naturally theioak cabinet, with its contents of ten of every kind of knife, fork, and spoon (with handles of African ivory), is a .prize which many peoplo are anxious to win. The roinnining prizes (eleven in all) are also such as would pleaso th<v heart of every housewife.
