"NOT SUFFICIENTLY AIRED"
Sir,—Paper is short and ink dear, yel! nearly a column goes in two journals to a Sc'ribo and Pharisee, whose lon&' prayer contains not one logicul point to hang an argument upon, with no visible intention but one that clearly engenders, interference with enlistment. Take hi* suggestion that "no power on earth can. exact conformity because the highest power on earth is only a higher power, and tho only highest, power is in the keeping of the individual." Ihe writer defeats his own laboured logic further on by enjoining the State to "prttoct; GocUiven rights," and "undo the heavy burden, and let the oppressed go free. How is the State going to do all this if it has no authority, and.how is it to have authority if the abstract unknown, is given power to sand-bag. the concrete , known (Juantity in the equation ?-I am, ; €tC " HENRY BODLEY.
