ECONOMISING FUEL
In view of the importance of ceonomisiiiK in the consumption of coal and oilier fuel supplies, special attention has been given by the British Government to the possibility of securing concentration of production in industries in which restriction of output has caused an uneconomic uso of fuel. At the suggestion of the President of the Board of Trade, the Food Controller lias recently appointed a committee to\eonfiidor the, practicability of minimising transport and miring fuel in connection with the distribution and brewing of beer and to formulate a scheme for the consideration of the 'Ministry of Food nml-(iin Hoard of Trade. A. committee has also been appointed by tho Board of Trade to consider and report as to the consumption of coal in mills encased in the manufacture of paper, and the best means of effecting economies of coal and transport. ■Earnest attention is being giren to the nuestion of nrraiuring for Ihc manufacture of such raw 'materials as are availAble in oilier restricted industries with tho miniurnum expenditure of fuel and disorsan'isation of such industries.—"British Trado Journal."
