i VENETIAN PLAIN NOW CLEARED PASSING OF THE BOiSHEYIEI BEGINNING'OF THE END Save for local attacks and the steady pressure of the air squadrons on the morale of the German public, to say nothing of the upsetting of tho enomy's military organisations and transport, the lull on the Western front continues. Comment on the recent Australian and American successes shows that in each case a valuable tactical objective was reached. Three German divisions were so badly out up in the fighting that they could not counter-attack, and are now being refitted. The Italians are masters once more of the line of tho Piave. Tho whole of the Venetian plain is now clear of the enemy, and^ the only Austrians left on the Italian side arc 24,000 prisoners. The beginning of the end of the Bolshevik terror in Russia appears to bo in sight with the Allied landing at (Vladivostok. The Czeoho-Slovaks havo now occupied the city. '
