Tho Island Bay Club's first annual report states that the club's membership consists of 53 ordinary and 3 Honorary members,'' which is considered rery satisfactory for tho first year. It is hoped that an inoreßso of membership next year will place the club in a better financial condition,. The "A" debenture holders aro secured by a second mortgage over the dub's property. The "B" debenture holders are secured by a first mortgage over the new ,soction, Lot 18, Parade, Hand Bay. The mortgages are held by trustees appointed by the committee. The section of land adjoining the bowling green on the northirii boundary has been acquired for future extension of the green, and will prove- a valuable asset. The wholo amount of the purchase money has been raised b,y an issue of special debentures (B), tearing interest at 5 per cent. The committee in grateful to the Indies for their valuable assistance in providing refreshmonta and entertaining visitors. Special thanks are aJso due to tho following - gentlomen for valuable services and gifts to the olub:—Mr. H. C. Barnes, honorary arohitoot, for plans find specifications of pavilion; Mr. J. (J. Nevitt, for talcing levels of green; tho president, for sets of bowls; Messrs. B, W. Mills and Co., for sots of bowls; Messrs. C. and A. Odlin, for six garden seafe, 60oring boards, and blackboard; Mr. D. H. Tnylor, for ironwork; Ifr. H._ T. Ballinger, for dims; Mr. C, C. Odlin, for croquet set; Mr. ,T. A. Condor, for plumbing wort; Mr. J. Gruar, for Union Jaok; Mr. W. Kerr; for clnb flag, and shields for club coats; the Press, for generous publicity. Under tho rules of the club the president, vice-president, secretary, treasurer, and three committeemen (Messrs. .T. Grnar, J. 0. Shorknd, nn W. Kerr) retire from, office, but are eligible for re-alectioh. All members of the club who aro called tip for active Kervire will be retained on the roll of members, free of any subscription, and will be entitled to all tho privileges of the club. !
