Thanks to the growing stream of coppers from the contributing area outside Wellington, the Ited Cross copper trail made improved progress last week, but whon tlie week-end reports were exchanged with Auckland it was found Hint the northern trail-layers had made quite a sensational spurt, which landed their end of the trail at Te Awamuiu, a hundred miles. Miss Lillian Duuptan, of New York, arrived in Welliuglon by the Moatni yesterday. Hho intends 10-spend a holiday with'her sister, who resides in Christchurch.

Miss Mary Edwards, a Sydney artist, who has been on a trip to Papeete, was a passenger by the Moana, which arrived at Wellington last night. She intends lo return to Sydney shortly.
