The Military Appeal Board will sit at Mnstoj'ton on July !). Pahiatua on Ju 10. and Dannevirke on July 11. Many of the roads in the Masterton district are in a bad condition as a result of the recent rains. _ The weather in the Wairarapa took a decided turn for tho better yesterday, when twelve degrees of frost were registered. The Masterton Returned Soldiers' Club will be opened in the course of a few (lays. Out of a considerable number of npnlicants, Mr. Pascoo, of Wellington, has been appointed steward of the 11 asterton Returned Soldiers' Club. The lied Cross Copper Trail effort was attended with successful results, although the weather conditions were unfavourable. The CI Military Camp Band participated in the proceedings. The sum of JMO Rs, was realised from various sources. Messrs. W. E. Bidwill (.£SO), and J. O. and J. C. Bidwill r.ESO) have donated the sums mentioned towards tho ICahiitara week in connection with the fund.
